Buying guide

How to choose LED panel & down lights

  • Recessed or surface

    A recessed panel sits flush inside a false-ceiling cut-out; check the cut-out size printed on the box. Surface panels screw onto a plain concrete ceiling, so no false ceiling is needed.

  • How many and what wattage

    In most homes, 12W–15W panels spaced about 4–6 ft apart light a room evenly; small rooms and passages can use 6W–9W. Offices with grid ceilings use 2×2 panels of about 36W–40W.

  • Colour temperature

    Warm white (3000K) for bedrooms and living rooms, neutral white (4000K) for kitchens and offices, cool white (6500K) for shops. Some panels offer more than one colour; ask us.

  • Low-glare models

    Deep downlights set the light source further up, so there is less glare when you look up.
